Hi! Thanks for dropping by my iBot journal!

I'm using this video to raise money to get an iBot. 2 million views will pay $10,000, which is a little under half the price of an iBot, the best wheelchair in the world.

My first goal is to reach 20,000 views. (Maybe I'd better come up with other content!)

Here are the four ways you can help me get an iBot:

1) Watch this video and give it a rating of at least 3. Please use this link to watch, so your view will count in the total: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/635243/theresa_test_drives_an_ibot/
2) If you have an LJ, a MySpace, or a blog, post the link there.
3) Share the link with anyone you think would be interested to watch or who wouldn't mind helping.
4) Register on Metacafe and give the video a rating of 3 or higher. This helps to ensure I get paid.

At the beginning of Day 4, there are 1,908 views. Today might be the day to break 2,000. Please share the link with your friends. :)

If you'd like to donate cash, you can do so through PayPal. Just scroll up to the top of the page where you'll see a blue link that says, "User Info". Click there and you'll end up on a page with a PayPal button for donating. One thing you need to know is that I am going to work my hardest to get an iBot, but if I ever find I can't, I will give the money to a social justice or public health organization. So, as long as those terms work for you, I'll gratefully accept donations.

At the beginning of the second day, there are 1,000 views. I definitely did not contact 1,000 people myself, so THANK YOU, everyone who has watched and shared the video. You are better than warm brownies with vanilla ice cream.

I'm Theresa. You might know me, but then again, you might not. I have cerebral palsy and limited mobility. That's the main reason I'm interested in something like the iBot. However, the iBot comes with an incredibly huge price tag ($24,000). Maybe that's consistent with both its technology and its value, but sheesh, I won't have that kind of money for some time.

Enter brilliant plan!

Some websites actually pay for clicks to video content. I could, perhaps, kill two birds with one stone. Except that I don't need two dead birds. Anyway, people who watch the video will be helping me get an iBot. That works. I suppose I could use various websites, but Metacafe is the most straightforward, maybe. They also require a LOT of views. Essentially, 2 million views pay $10,000. That's almost half an iBot! My first goal is to reach 20,000 views. (Maybe I'd better come up with other content!)

Earlier this year, when I first did the test drive, I asked any willing supporters for $1. I'm up to ten dollars in cash contributions and also, two promises for the last two dollars. I guess that means I'm working on the $23,988 in the middle there.
